Mendelsohn sets development slate
Mendelsohn "CSI" showrunner Carol Mendelsohn has set her first development slate, including projects in place at CBS, the CW, Foreign exchange and TNT. It's been yearly since Carol Mendelsohn Prods. launched in the pod deal with CBS Television Art galleries. Former WME agent Julie Weitz signed on as leader of production in August 2010. Captured, Mendelsohn acquired an plane pilot pickup from TNT for "Scent in the Missing," a drama hour starring Tricia Helfer and Gerald McRaney. Good book by Susannah Charleson, the pilot follows a detective and her canine companion. In line with her roots in crime drama, Mendelsohn has multiple projects representing the genre setup within the network where she's acquired her finest hit. CBS may also be developing "Widow Detective." The script: After you have three partners destroyed within the kind of duty, a decorated police detective retreats into their loved ones becoming husband/lover/father. David Hubbard ("Noel") will write and executive produce.Another CBS script order is "Murder Room," the actual story from the famous profiler, forensic artist, and leading investigator for your FBI who form a team to analyze crimes that have stupefied police around the globe. Good book by Michael Capuzzo, "Room" will probably be written and executive produced by George Nolfi ("The Adjustment Bureau"). As formerly reported, another CBS script order from Mendelsohn is "Two Badges," of a police detective with roots inside the barrio she polices. Mendelsohn has some several hours in development at CW: "The Hollows," of a private-eye witch coping with local police agencies to combat risks both mundane and supernatural, from Jordan Hawley ("Smallville") and "Unearthly," of a girl you never know that her future is always to become an angel, from Kevin Murphy ("Caprica") and Robin Schorr ("Food, Corporation."). Mendelsohn also provides a drama inside the running at Foreign exchange: "Throwdown Gun" from "LA Private" author James Ellroy, who professional produces with Clark Billings ("Monster"). The lives from the white-colored cop together with a black cop are forever connected after hiding a violent crime while working -- the results which alter race relations in La. Weitz is executive producer along with Mendelsohn on all projects. Weitz is repped by WME. Contact Andrew Wallenstein at andrew.wallenstein@variety.com
